PROGRAM:
Byron Bangert introduced Randy White of Cardinal Stage Company.
There are three areas which Cardinal Stage Company fills in the community. They are 1) economic, 2) social and 3) artistic.
Economic - The Cardinal Stage Company budget has grown from $100,000 the first year to $540,000 at present and may grow to $700,000 in three years. Attendance has gone from 4,500 the first year to 14,000 the third year and is expected to be 18,000 in three years. The number of full-time employees will go from four to five this year, and there are several part-time employees. Purchases of lumber, costumes and printing are all done locally, and six restaurants participate in a show package.
Social - There is a collaboration with the College of Arts and Sciences, tickets are provided to the public schools, a Shakesperean training program is being established and the Community Access Ticket Initiative provides theatre access to those who for various reasons would not otherwise get to attend.
Artistic - Attendance at an event provides a break from the daily challenges of life and can
lift the spirits of those who attend performances.

The Waldron Center is at a turning point and the mayor's panel will have some direction to share in the next 30 to 60 days.
Cardinal Stage Company would like to work with someone who can bring the arts community together for the success of all arts in Bloomington.
Cardinal Stage Company may have it own facility in 3 - 5 years.
